Entry and Booking terms

All tickets are sold subject to these terms and conditions. We are Nottingham Ice Centre Limited trading as the National Ice Centre (NIC) and Motorpoint Arena Nottingham (company number 3563341) ("we" / "us" / "our"). We are authorised to sell tickets for events (i.e. arena events, conferences, sporting events, sporting activities) as an agent on behalf of the promoter of the event (the "Promoter"), and act for our own sporting activities and events. These terms and conditions equally apply to the purchase of ice skating tickets. Our appointed ticketing partner is Ticketek.

These terms and conditions are available by request from our Box Office, and they are also displayed at the venue. Should you choose to purchase the optional ticket protection, our full Ticket Protection terms and conditions will apply to such purchase and can be viewed here

  1. Purchasing tickets
  2. 1.1 A contract for the purchase of your tickets will be formed between you and us when we email you to let you know that we have accepted your order.

1.2 The price for your tickets (which includes VAT) will be the price indicated on the order pages when you place your order. You must pay for your tickets at the point of purchase using one of our accepted payment methods.

1.2 Tickets will be issued to you either by email, mobile or post (depending on which option you have selected) at the email address or postal address you provided to us in your order. For some events you may be able to select to collect your tickets from the Box Office on the date of the event.

1.3 Please check your confirmation email and tickets carefully upon receipt and contact us immediately if there is a mistake, as tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged after purchase, unless the event is cancelled or re-scheduled as set out in these terms and conditions.

  3. Age restrictions
  4. 2.1 For all events (seated and standing), children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18, it is the responsibility of the adult to supervise and be responsible for the actions of the child at all times. Age restrictions may vary for specific events and should be checked prior to booking tickets. For ice skating tickets, all children under the age of 9 must be accompanied at all times by an adult over the age of 18 whilst on the ice rink. A maximum of four children under the age of 9 may be accompanied per adult.

  5. Cancellation of an event
  6. 3.1 If a show/performance is cancelled or rescheduled, we will try to contact you as soon as possible to let you know. However you are responsible for checking the new date and time of any postponed or rescheduled event. Your original ticket will allow you to attend the re-scheduled event.

3.2 If you are not able to attend the re-arranged date and time, you may contact us to receive a refund for the tickets you have paid for but cannot use. We will refund you the price you paid for the tickets, less any delivery and Ticket Protection costs, by the method you used for payment.

3.2 We are not liable for any additional costs or expenses you may incur in respect of a postponed or re-scheduled event - including, but not limited to, hotel or travel expenses.

  7. Rules of entry
  8. 4.1 A valid ticket must be produced to enter the event or activity. Removing any part of, altering or defacing the ticket may invalidate the ticket.

4.2 Please take care of your tickets as we cannot always issue duplicates of lost or misplaced standing or unreserved tickets.

4.3 You cannot re-sell your tickets for commercial gain without express permission from us or the Promoter. If you do so, your ticket may be void and we have the right to refuse to admit the ticket holder to the event or activity or to eject the ticket holder from it without a refund. Customers should be aware that tickets sold from unofficial sources may not be valid.

4.4 It is against the law to smoke on the premises. Smoking will lead to ejection without a refund. Our policy does not permit the use of electronic smoking substitutes.

4.5 The unauthorised use of photographic and recording equipment (whether audio or visual) is prohibited. The use of tablets (i.e., iPads, Galaxy, etc.), laptops, professional cameras with a detachable zoom lens, and Go Pros are not permitted in the venue and may be refused entry.

4.6 We and/or the Promoter may conduct security searches during the event or activity. We and/or the Promoter may refuse admission to, or eject, the ticket holder if the ticket holder refuses to be searched, or in our (and/or the Promoter's) reasonable opinion, admission of the ticket holder to the venue might be a risk to the safety of the audience or the ticket holder, or affect the enjoyment of the audience or the running of the event (for example if the holder appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or is acting aggressively or anti-socially). No refunds will be offered to customers in these circumstances.

4.7 Customers are expected to adhere to the latest venue health, safety and welfare guidelines (for example, any distancing measures, or the wearing of face coverings). Up to date information will be listed on our websites www.motorpointarenanottingham.com and www.national-ice-centre.com. You should follow relevant public health guidance at the time of the event, this may have changed since point of booking and include providing evidence of testing and or vaccination status in line with UK Government guidance.

No musical instruments will be permitted into the venue with the exception of those being used in the 'noisy block' during ice hockey games.

4.11 We operate a Challenge 21 Policy. Please be aware you may be asked to produce accepted ID such as a driver's licence or valid passport. We will confiscate and retain false IDs and we may contact the police.

4.12 If you experience any problems please contact Box Office, or a steward, so that the issue can be resolved prior to, or during, the event or activity.

4.13 Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event or activity, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.

4.14 Official merchandise is only available from authorised vendors at the venue.

4.15 As members of the audience, you consent to being photographed, filmed and/or sound recorded for broadcast and/or publication, without payment. For ice skating and some specific sporting events, the use of personal photography or filming equipment is not permitted without the completion of the relevant authorisation form. The relevant authorisation form is available from our Box Office and must be completed in advance of the event or activity.

4.16 Animals are not permitted in the venue (except Assistance Dogs).

4.17 Please note strobe lighting, show smoke, pyrotechnics, foam or lasers may be used during events. Sound levels may be loud. Hearing protection is available on request to a member of venue staff. We strongly advise that children attending events wear suitable hearing protection. It is your responsibility to determine the most appropriate hearing protection for you and any children who are attending an event with you.

4.18 Floor seats are on flat flooring. Please be aware people may stand or dance in front of you in a seated area in both tiered seating and flat floor. No refunds will be offered if your view is restricted in these circumstances.

4.19 Tickets are sold subject to our and/or the Promoter's right to alter the support artist line up or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond the control of us and/or the Promoter without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets. We will notify you of any alteration or variation to the programme as soon as possible. The Promoter is responsible for the quality of the performance, including sound and staging.

4.20 We and the Promoter reserve the right to provide alternative seats at an event to those specified on the ticket if the staging of the event reasonably requires, provided they are of no less value to that stated on the ticket.

4.21 We reserve the right to cancel or suspend a skating session at any time on the grounds of public safety.

4.22 WARNING: Ice hockey can be dangerous. Spectators are warned to keep an eye on the puck(s) at all times as the puck(s) may leave the ice and travel into public areas. Spectators should only access and leave their seats when play is stopped.

Refunds, exchanges and replacements

Subject to requests made under the Refundable Tickets Terms and Conditions of Sale below, or the COVID-19 Refunds and Exchanges Terms and Conditions:

  1. Ticketek will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event is cancelled, rescheduled, significantly relocated by the Seller (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the rescheduled or relocated event), for any material alteration, or to the extent otherwise required by law (including UK Consumer Law). You must apply for a refund within a reasonable time. Ticketek does not offer refunds or exchanges as a result of a change in your personal circumstances.
  2. Material alteration refers to a change which, in our and/or the Seller’s reasonable opinion, makes the relevant Event materially different to that which you could, as a purchaser, reasonably expect. For clarity, the below changes, as examples but without limitation, are not considered material and therefore no refunds will be provided when:
    1. The use of understudies in theatre performances
    2. Adverse weather conditions
    3. Changes to supporting acts
    4. Changes to individual band members
    5. Changes to the line-up of any multi-performer event

  3. If an Event is cancelled, rescheduled, materially altered or significantly relocated by the Seller, we will use our best efforts and reasonably endeavour to notify you once the information is made available to us by the Seller using the contact details you provide during purchase. However, it is your responsibility to ascertain and check if an Event has been cancelled, rescheduled or altered.
  4. If an event is cancelled, rescheduled, materially altered or significantly relocated by the Seller, all liability is limited to the amount for which the ticket was purchased (including any fees or charges). Proof of purchase may be required for any refund or exchange. Unless required by law (including UK Consumer Law), neither Ticketek nor the Seller will be liable for any other losses incurred by you as a result of the cancellation, rescheduling or relocation of an event, including any travel and accommodation expenses.
  5. Ticketek will only replace lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed tickets if the authenticity of the ticket can be verified, including proof of purchase, and if you give reasonable notice before the event. Ticketek may charge a reasonable fee for the replacement of tickets. Ticketek may not replace tickets where seating is unallocated (general admission tickets).
  6. You should carefully consider the refund and cancellation policies of travel, accommodation and other goods or service providers when making arrangements for attendance at an event. You may also wish to consider taking out a relevant insurance policy to cover for any losses in the event of cancellation, rescheduling or relocation.
  7. In most cases, refunds will be automatically processed to the credit card originally used for purchase

  3. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted until a suitable break in the event.
  4. You may not be permitted to take into the event, or use, cameras or other photographic or recording equipment (including mobile phones).

COVID-19 specific conditions of entry

  1. You acknowledge that the event may be scheduled to be held, or will be held, during a time at which one or more Government directions or regulations may be in force regarding the number of persons attending an event (or the holding of the event itself). If that is the case, then the number of persons permitted to be in or around the Venue may be affected, resulting in the Seller (or Ticketek, on behalf of the Seller) being required to or deciding to:
    1. cancel or postpone the event;
    2. reduce the number of persons who may attend the event;
    3. change your seating allocation; and/or
    4. change any standing or seating configurations for attendance at the event;
in which case You may receive a refund in accordance with these Ticketek Terms and Conditions of Sale, or the COVID-19 Refunds and Exchanges Terms and Conditions, as the case may be.
  2. You agree to comply with all Government directions, orders and regulations relevant to attending live events, which may be in place at the time of the event.
  3. If you are attending the event as part of a group, as the primary ticket purchaser, you are responsible for knowing the contact details of all attendees in your group. In the event you are contacted directly by the Government, including the Department of Health for the purposes of contact tracing, you must: (a) make the contact details of your group available to the Government (if you have the consent of each group member to do so); or (b) contact each member of your group, and request that they provide their contact details to the Government directly.
  4. All attendees in your group, including yourself, must commit to stopping the spread of COVID-19. If at the time of the event, either you, or any other members of your group are feeling unwell or are subject to a self-quarantine or self-isolation period, you agree not to attend the event. If you do attend the event, you agree to assume all risk associated with COVID-19

Authenticity and validity of tickets

  1. Entry to an event may be refused if the authenticity or validity of a ticket is questionable, including because the ticket has been damaged or defaced in any way, or has not been purchased from Ticketek or other authorised points of sale.

Resale of tickets & touting

  1. Tickets may not, without the prior written consent of Ticketek and the Seller, be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via on-line auction or other unauthorised resale sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services. If a ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the ticketholder of the ticket may be refused admission. Ticketek will use reasonable efforts to notify you of such action.

TOUTING WARNING: The resale of tickets in certain circumstances is governed by ticket sales legislation and may attract criminal penalties.

Collection and delivery of tickets

  1. You must allow adequate time for collection or delivery of tickets. Methods of collection and/or delivery will be available when choosing your collection/delivery details. In the interests of minimising ticket scalping, Ticketek may change your delivery method to "venue collect" at its discretion.
  2. Where concessions are applicable, suitable and valid identification must be provided for collection of tickets and at the event.
  3. It is your responsibility to ensure all contact and delivery details are up to date and accurate at the time of purchasing. Ticketek UK does not hold any liability for successful delivery of tickets to addresses incorrectly provided by you.

Limitations on number of tickets purchased

  1. When purchasing tickets for a particular event you may be limited to a specified number of tickets. If you exceed the stated ticket limit, you may have any or all of your orders and tickets cancelled without notice by Ticketek at its discretion. This includes orders associated with the same name, e-mail address, billing address, credit card number or other information. Ticket limits apply to ensure fair access to tickets for fans, and as a measure to minimise ticket scalping.
  2. Multiple accounts, credit cards, or other means of creating duplicate customer data must not be done with the purpose or intention of circumventing any limitations or purchase policies for any Events. If we learn that such practises are engaged in, Ticketek in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel any tickets or accounts associated with such activity without notice or refund.

System Errors

  1. While Ticketek takes all reasonable care to ensure that tickets are correctly priced and only available for sale when intended, sometimes errors may occur. Ticketek may cancel an order made as a result of any such error, although in the case of a pricing error Ticketek will endeavour to contact you to give you the option of purchasing the ticket at the correct price.

Customer Errors

  1. If an error on your behalf results in Ticketek reprocessing the ticket transaction at your request, Ticketek may charge to you the actual costs incurred in reprocessing the ticket transaction, including any chargeback or postage fees charged to Ticketek by a third party.
  2. It is your responsibility, entirely, to check immediately once the order has been completed through reviewing the order confirmation email and/or your Ticketek Account. If you have any questions or concerns about the state of your order, you must immediately contact us for any mistakes, errors, or other issues. Ticketek is not liable for any issues encountered during purchase for any assumptions made about the success or state of your order, and any subsequent errors either technical or through mis provided information or the lack of confirmation information received.
